7th Annual SKC3's Friendship Cup 2016

Saturday February 27th 2016

All are welcome to the 7th Annual SKC3’s Friendship Cup, to be held on Saturday 27th February 2016. The aim of the Friendship Cup is to promote harmony and goodwill in the spirit of competition.  There will be the opportunity for senior Kyu grades and all Dan grades to practise shimpaning skills. Like the last SKC3's, the kids will play a similar team set-up to the adults and promises to be an exciting start to the competition. If you do not have a team, or a complete team, please feel free to enter and we will aim to find a place for each and every one of you!  Click HERE to register!

Location: CSG Sports Centre, Faculty of Health Sciences, Cumberland Campus C42, 75 East St, Lidcombe, NSW 2141 (entry via Gate 2).  Parking is free on campus.

Cost: $35 for adults, $15 for children (lunch provided)

Team Structure (for adults):
  • 3 players.
  • At least one Kyu grade (Kyu will always play first).
  • Only one 3rd Dan or above.
  • Team members do not need to be members of the same club.
  • Anyone 16yrs old, or younger, must have a permission letter from a parent or guardian and the approval of the team coach to play in the adults division.

Team Structure (for kids):
  • 3 players.
  • 16yrs old or under.
  • Team coaches will discuss and choose the team order prior to each match based on size and ability.
  • Team members do not need to be members of the same club.

Competition Structure: 
Round 1 will include Pools, ensuring all players will play at least two matches. Each match will be limited to 3 minutes, except the final, which will be limited to 5 minutes.

Team Name:
As in previous years, we encourage teams to use their imagination and come up with a fun and witty team name for the chance to win the coveted '3 Wise Monkeys' award.

Entry closes Friday, 19 February 2016. No late entries will be accepted.


  • Hall Open: 9:00am
  • Registration & Shinai Health Check: 9:30am – 10:00am
  • Opening Ceremony: 10:00am – 10:15am
  • SKC 3’s Round Robins Pool Matches: 10:15am – 12:30pm
  • Lunch Break: 12:30pm – 1:30pm
  • U/16's Team Matches and Finals: 1:30pm – 2:30pm
  • SKC 3’s Knockout Rounds: 2:30pm – 4:00pm
  • Presentation Ceremony: 4:00pm – 4:30pm
  • Free Jigeiko: 4:30pm – 5:00pm
