Sydney Kendo Club is proud to to be hosting the 5th Annual SKC3’s Friendship Cup, to be held on Saturday 16th February 2013. The aim of the Friendship Cup is to promote harmony and goodwill in the spirit of competition.  There will be the opportunity for senior Kyu grades and all Dan grades to practise shimpaning skills. For children, there will be individual competitions for U/12 and U/16.

Location: CSG Sports Centre, Faculty of Health Sciences, Cumberland Campus C42, 75 East St, Lidcombe, NSW 2141 (entry via Gate 2).  Parking is free on campus.

Cost: $35 for adults, $15 for children (lunch provided)

Team Structure (for adults):
  • 3 players.
  • At least one Kyu grade (Kyu will always play first).
  • Only one 3rd Dan or above.
  • Team members do not need to be members of the same club.

Competition Structure:

Round 1 will include Pools, ensuring all players will play at least two matches. Each match will be limited to 3 minutes, except the final, which will be limited to 5 minutes.


Team Name:
In previous years, we have seen some great and imaginative team names.  So to encourage this tradition, the team that comes up with the best name will win a 'great' prize.


How To Enter (for adults):

For SKC members, please enter via the SKC club secretary Nick Sordon. 
  1. Form your team and choose a team captain.
  2. Team captain to collect entry fees (3 x $35 = $105) and deposit entry fees to your team captain's club bank account.  If the team captain is from SKC, please make $105 payment to SKC bank account as follow:

  3. Team captain to fill in attached form and email to your own club secretary.  For teams made up of players from different clubs, the team captain should enter the full team via the captain's club, including $105 entry fees.

Entry closes Friday, 8th February 2013. No late entries will be accepted.



Timetable:

  • Shinai Weigh-in: 8:30am – 9:00am
  • Opening Ceremony: 9:00am – 9:15am
  • SKC 3’s Round 1 (Round Robins Matches): 9:30am – 12noon
  • Lunch Break: 12noon – 1pm
  • U/12 Individuals: 1pm – 1:30pm
  • U/16 Individuals: 1:30pm – 2pm
  • SKC 3’s Knockout Rounds: 2pm – 4:30pm
  • Presentation Ceremony: 4:30pm – 5:00pm
  • Free Jigeiko: 5:00pm – 5:30pm
